Goderich Squadron has received the Boating Safety Award for the past year for our Safe Boating Day in Goderich on June 9, 2007. Congratulations to Gord Grant and the many others who helped.

Goderich Squadron has also received the Environmental Award for the past year, in large part to the efforts of Dawn & Bob Merriman. Note the photo below.

Pleasure Craft Licensing

Service Canada is now the place to get your pleasure craft licence. As of April 1, 2006, all 320 Service Canada Centres offer pleasure craft licences on behalf of Transport Canada. A pleasure craft licence is no longer available from the Canada Border Services Agency. For more information check the Office of Boating Safety

Pleasure Craft Courtesy Checks (PCCC

We will be conducting the checks at Goderich Maitland Valley Marina early next spring. Contact us if we can help you prepare for next year's boating season. (See e-mail addresses and below.)

Note: If your vessel has all the required safety equipment on-board at the time of the VOLUNTARY Pleasure Craft Courtesy Check (pccc) you will be given one of these. You will also receive a copy of the report listing all the items required in case you need to add items for your vessel along with a current Safe Boating Guide. If you would like to assist in this program you need to take the Transport Canada Course. Contact Cdr Dean Nisbett.

-The owner sent us a three word e-mail:"Nothing left here..." Yet, they were back in the repair business within two weeks, even as they hauled out derelict wrecks to have the adjusters assess the damage! Amazing!
